His dedication to the sport and leadership qualities didn’t go unnoticed. In his senior year, CJ was unanimously elected team captain—a significant achievement, especially given that he had joined the team just a year earlier. Balancing sports and academics, CJ maintained a grueling schedule. His days often started as early as 5 a.m. for practice before school, followed by late-night training sessions afterschool.
